How to Reach Your Goals in 2020
The New Year is always the best time to start planning and crushing your goals. Have you ever wondered how you always seem to be setting them in January, yet fail to achieve them come December? It’s high time to do a quick recap of the year that was and see the lapses (both big and small) that have contributed to the failed realization of your goals last year.
Do More Than What’s Necessary
“The typical person has three good days for every bad day. To do better than average, then, you'd want to have at least four good days for every bad one,” according to the book, “Rule of Four.” This simply means there is a need to exceed your efforts to be able to achieve your goals. Your chance to get what you want is amplified when you step out of your comfort zone.
Set Three Big Goals for the Year
One of the major reasons why some people can’t achieve their goals is they can be overwhelming. Breaking them down will help them become more realistic and achievable. For instance one of your goals is to buy a car, set a monthly goal on how much you need to set aside to be able to buy it in X months. Putting in a specific date will add a sense of urgency is reaching your goals.
Acknowledge Your Weakness
It’s not always easy to admit one’s mistakes. But the good thing about knowing them is it gives you the power to change them. If one of your biggest weaknesses is time management, make a conscious effort to curb procrastination and other habits that keep you from being productive.
The key to achieving your goals is to doing something you haven’t done before. If you’re keen to make 2020 you’re year, then it’s time to up your game and take on new challenges.
